PROFILE OF OUR PASTOR
ELDER
LEONARD T. HARRIS is the eldest of 2 children born to Linton Harris
and Vonzie Lee Hodges. He was raised in a Christian family and attended
church from early childhood. Elder Harris accepted Christ as his personal
savior in 1965 and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Elder
L. T. Harris gave his trial sermon at Greater Zion Church of
God In Christ in Philadelphia, PA, under the pastorship of
Bishop B. M. Oakley. Soon after he was ordained and served faithfully
under the pastorship of Bishop Oakey until he was called into the Vineyard
to work with Bishop George A. Williams, at Rehoboth Temple COGIC, Philadelphia.
While at Rehoboth, Elder Harris pursued the Evangelistic Ministry and
a vast number of souls were added to the sheepfold. He won the respect
of all he worked with, both young and old alike.
In
January 1977, Elder Harris was led by the Lord to establish Spirit and
Truth Church of God In Christ as Pastor and Minister to all God's people.
As Pastor, many souls have accepted Christ, membership has increased,
and healing and deliverance has been found through his many prayers
and sacrifices.
In
September 2001, Pastor Harris was promoted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Jurisdictional Bishop to be the Superintendent of The Delaware
Valley District.
Since
conception, Elder Harris has organized the Feeding Program, The Tract
and Prison Ministry. Outreach Ministry has been added by way of the
Moss Rehabilitation Center located in Philadelphia,
which is visited by Pastor Harris and congregation every first Tuesday
of the Month and adoption of the Molletta Personal Care Shelter for
Men visited every other month.
Pastor
Harris was married to the late Mother Vivian J. O. Harris for 39 glorious
years. From this union they have 2 daughters, Sister Vendetta J. Tolliver,
Evangelist Avery C. Roberts and one son, Minister Braddock G. Harris.
